Air drop of essential commodities in remote areas

Jammu, Jan 16: Expressing concern over hardship being faced by the residents of Gool and Arnas blocks due to continues snowfall on the higher reaches and incessant rains in the plains, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today asked government to utilize choppers service to supply essential commodities and medicines in the cut off areas of Reasi and Ramban districts.
In a statement issued here today, Zonal president of Gool-Arnas zone of PDP Imtiyaz Shan today said Gool-Arnas area has been facing hardship due to hostile whether, situation is worst in remote areas of Gool block.
He further said that inhabitants of Bassa, Lancha, Hariwalla and Budan areas are facing hardship due to non availability of essential commodities like ration and fuel.
Cautioning the government against adopting any casual approach to deal with the prevailing situation in these areas, Shan demanded that ration and other essential commodities should be supplied in these inaccessible areas through choppers so as to protect the people from starvation.
