DSE urged to announce Special Winter Vacations | Students attendance very thin, teacher's facing inconvenience | | EARLY TIMES Report Jammu, Jan, 16: An emergent meeting of TWA members was held today under the chairmanship of Mohinder Sharma, (lecturer, SRML Higher Secondary School) in which the conditions emerging out of the deteriorating weather was discussed. Addressing the meeting, Jasmeet Singh, provincial president, said that the students' attendance is very thin in the govt. schools and those who are coming lack basic woollen garments thus further compounding problems. Worst is the condition of the teachers working in far flung and inaccessible areas where the teachers have to trek by foot to reach the school. These teachers of Rajouri, Poonch and upper reaches of Chowki Choura are finding it difficult to reach even to the school in-time due to the slippery trek in these snow bound areas. Keeping in view the prevailing conditions, it is impressed upon the Director, School Education, Jammu G.A. Qureshi to announce immediately the special winter vacations for 8-10 days to avoid any untoward incident The prominent teachers who were present in the meeting included Bishan Dass, Mohd. Irfan, district president, Munish Pandoh, Sanjeev Sharma, Mohd. Imtiaz, Mohd. Yaseen, Ajit Singh, Kulwant Singh among others.
