5th J&K State Prison Duty Meet concludes | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 16- The closing ceremony of 5th State Level Prison Duty Meet-2012 was held in Central Jail Jammu Kotbhalwal here today. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away the prizes to the winners of the events held during the meet. Deputy Chief Minister on the occasion expressed happiness in holding such events aimed to the prospective of the employees and make them more professional in the performance of their duties. He also assured his full support to the Department for making the institutional work more vibrant so that the inmate's reformation & rehabilitation programme reach to its peak. On the occasion, Director General Prisons Navin Agarwal, also elaborated on the various aspects of the Prison Duty Meet and the activities taking place in the prisons of the J&K for the benefit of the inmates. DG Prisons assured the Deputy Chief Minister that the Department and its employees will work for the reformation and rehabilitation of the inmates. The Co-coordinator of the Prisons Duty Meet Supdt. Central Jail Jammu Kotbhalwal Mrs. Rajni Sehgal while welcoming the guests elaborated on the events which were held during the three days of the Meet. DIG Prisons Dr. M.S. Lone presented vote of thanks to the chief guest and the dignitaries and the participants of the Meet. During the closing ceremony the other dignitaries of District Administration, Police and Prisons Department were also present. After declaring the Meet close, Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the Crèche at Central Jail Jammu Kotbhalwal for the small children of women prisoners. |
