Police shifts pregnant ladies to hospital | Sopore Police repair widow's house | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 16 : Four pregnant ladies, Rahila, Saleema, Hafiza and Saleema, wouldn't had made it to deliver their babies through safe hands of gynecologists, if police had not come to their help at a critical time. Rahila wife of Arshid Khatana of Gujjar Basti Batakote, Pahalgam was evacuated by Anantnag police to Sub Davison Hospital, Anantnag in a police vehicle that was kept standby for medical exigencies. The family was unable to shift her to the hospital because of heavy snowfall in the area. In a similar incident Khrew police shifted a pregnant lady Hafiza Begum wife of Showkat Ahmad Najar of Bathen to hospital as she was stuck in the village due to road blocks caused by heavy snowfall. The lady was shifted to the SDH, Pampore in a police vehicle. Kupwara police came to the rescue of two pregnant Saleema wife of Mohammad Shafi Shah of Tekipora and Saleema wife of Shamsudin resident of Dorusa who had gone in their labors but their families were unable to take them to the hospital. Sogam police press their vehicles in service and evacuated both the ladies to Sogam Hospital. It was a timely action of police that saved the four ladies and their babies as any delay in their shifting could have taken proved fatal for them. Meanwhile, Sopore police came up to the help of a widow whose house was damaged in the heavy snowfall. The heavy snowfall brought added the miseries for a widow Khatija of Krankshvan, when her house collapsed due to heavy snow. With her house damaged she and her small family was left to fend for herself in the freezing cold. |
