| Gujjar officers should be provided with all benefits : ABGM | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 16 : A press conference was organized by ABGM J&K chapter, in which Ishfaq Dr Rehman Poswal briefed the media and said that the future prospectus and carrier of 100 KAS qualified Gujjars officers of J&K state is at stake due to apathy of state administration.
Poswal urged to implement in letter and spirit the SRO 110/2000 and extend all benefits accrue from consequential benefits of roaster point seniority under which the incumbent belonging to SCS and STS in the rest of the country for reaping benefits but Gujjar community in particular and other sections of SC and ST are deprived of their rights and justice. Poswal further expressed that seniority of KAS Gujjars and other of SC and ST should be given promotion on the basis of their reserved quota up to the level of HOD and not debarred from further promotions by blocking their subsequent promotion after the rank of deputy secretaries.
He further elaborated that similar benefits under the aforesaid concept must be extended to other SCS and STS Officers working in all other govt. department like doctor, engineer etc. so that they don't feel frustrated due to otherwise bleak future.
Regarding Prasar Bharti Poswal appealed to the, media to highlight the issue of national importance that Doordarshan Kashmir and radio Kashmir there is satellite broadcasting program in Urdu and Kashmiri language only which are of no use to vast population of Gujjars, Dogras , Paharis and other dwelling in Kashmir valley in Jammu division radio Kashmir Jammu and Doordarshan Jammu has no satellite facilities and no Gojri news bulletin from DD Jammu.
Poswal appealed to minister for information and broadcasting, government of India and chief executive officer Prasaar Bharti through media to personally intervene in the matter and arranged broadcasting telecasting of Gojri news under Gojri and Dogri from DD Kashir and radio Kashmir Srinagar and also provide satellite facility for radio and DD Programs in Jammu division and also telecast of Gojri news from DD Jammu.
Whereas schedule tribes are enjoying political reservation as per constitution of India, in J&K state where Gujjars and Bakarwals have been declared as scheduled tribes in 1991 and are being treated as par with SCS by J&K Government , however the benefits of political reservations which are provided to SCS community are not being extended to Gujjars and bakarwals without any logic/ rationale. Poswal exhorted upon honorable Prime Minister of India, UP A chairperson madam Sonia Gandhi, AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister of state Omar Abdullah to undo deprivation of justice and rights matted out to Gujjars and Bakarwals since 1991. |
