| Put the details of CAMPA in public domain :EC | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 16 : Environment Committee (EC) of Legislative Assembly today directed the Forest Department authorities to put the details of Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) in public domain. It also asked them to furnish detailed expenditure incurred under the scheme division-wise for the scrutiny in its next meeting.
The Committee, which met today under the chairmanship of MLA Bandipore Nizamu-ud-Din Bhat also discussed and reviewed the progress of Kishan-Ganga Hydel Electric Project (KGHEP). The Committee members Hakim Mohammad Yasin, Kafeel-ur-Rehman, Syed Bashir Ahmad Shah, Javid Mustafa Mir, Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan, Mohammad Khalil Band, Radhey Sham Sharma, Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat, Bharat Bhushan, Sham Lal Chow dhary, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani, Lal Chand and Durga Dass gave their suggestions for the improvement of CAMPA. The Committee asked the concerned to submit a status report on Hokersir wetland.
The Committee decided that it will discuss Seva Hydel Project and solid waste management in its next meeting. The Committee directed the NHPC to meet out any losses on account of damages to environment i.e. catchment and impacted areas and get the projects approved at their level by or before March 1, 2012. It also directed the District Development Commissioner, Bandipora to submit NHPC the detailed pending project, rehabilitation, relief and claims of impacted areas etc. by February 15. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary PDD, Sudha nshu Pandey, Secretary in PDD, Syed Altaf Hussain, Development Commissioner, Power, Manzoor Salroo, PCCF Vinod Ranjan, Chairman PCB Lal Chand, Chief Wild Life Warden A. K. Singh, Director Environment and Remote Sensing Ravi Kumar Kesar, Director Soilo Conservation M. J. Sharma, and other officers of forest and its allied wings, PDD, NHPC and Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting. |
