Dy CM pays surprise visits | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 16 : Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today paid surprise visit to Building Centre Jammu at Muthi and inspected the work of manufacturing of cement concrete bricks and tiles, cement concrete drains, Kerb stones, R.C.C. drain covers/slabs, and other manufacturing products besides reviewed the requirements of the Centre. Deputy Chief Minister went around various sections of the Centre and inspected the quality of the products being manufactured in the centre and impressed upon the officers to use quality material for the construction work of the tiles, brick and other items. Referring to their requirement of 30-40 kanals of alternate land for the shifting of Centre and construction of production Centre, the Deputy Chief Minister assured for providing alternate land of area more than 30 kanals and said the process would be initiated and implemented in stipulated time frame. Underlining the need for establishing the same centre in other districts, Deputy Chief Minister said that the necessary action in this regard would be taken at the earliest.Director Building Centre Jammu Mrs. Anita Sambyal apprised the Deputy Chief Minister about the working of the department. She said that the Building Centre has been working for Research and Development of cost effective technology/material which not only is environment friendly but creates jobs for many un-employed youth in construction industries. Building Centre Jammu has been established in the year 1993-94 with grant-in-aid assistance from Government of India through HUDCO and matching grant from State Government. |
