Normal life cripples in Kishtwar, Doda due to heavy snowfall

Kishtwar Jan 16:- Bad weather and continuous snowfall in Kishtwar Districts prevented the relief material sent by the District Administration by road to reach Padder fire victims even after three days of the incident.
According to the local peoples who informed the "Early Times" on phone that there is heavy snowfall going on in the area and up to 3-4 feet snow has accumulated in effected Kadailoo hamlet of village Ligri in Padder Tehsil of Kishtwar District, where four members of a family including two kids were roasted alive, beside 10 residential houses got completely damaged in a devastating fire during the intervening night of 13-14 January 2012.
The people informed that the relief material based on Blankets, mattresses, Kitchen sets, warm cloths and ration is still lying at Gulabgard Padder and so far has not been transported to the effected hamlet due to continuous heavy snowfall in the area. The people said that the fire victims spent their 3rd consequent night on the mercy of co villagers, as the government fails to rehabilitate them.
Meanwhile the normal cripples in Kishtwar and Doda Districts due to continuous heavy snowfall since last two days with Jammu-Kishtwar National Highway that acts as life line for the local inhabitants remained blocked since last more than one week resulted into the shortage of essential commodities. The fresh snowfall adds more miseries in common man's life since the internal routes within the twin Districts also got blocked and thus prevented the supply local milk, vegetables and mutton.
According to Khalid Malik who runs a vegetable shop in Malik Market Kishtwar there is acute shortage of vegetables in Kishtwar district. "Since Kishtwar witnessed first snowfall on 6th of November resulted into blocking of Kishtwar-Jammu National Highway as a result of which the supply of vegetables from Jammu and it's adjoin areas got stop." Khalid Malik said
