Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 16: BJP today ridiculed Omar Abdullah's claims of achievement in a recently released booklet, saying the three-year record card is more of a "photo album" of the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister while it further added as the State Vigilance Organization (SVO) and State Accountability Commission (SAC) remained defunct corrupt elements openly indulged in loot and bribery. "The booklet released by Omar to highlight his achievements in the past three years is more of a photo album of the chief minister...and nothing more than that," BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas told reporters here. He alleged the launch of this "photo album" as well as the pompous function organised to celebrate Omar's so called achievements is only a publicity stunt done at the expense of public exchequer. Manhas said the BJP dismisses as "hollow" and "ridiculous" the chief minister's claims of achievement on the completion of its three years in office. "The National Conference-led coalition government has proved a failure on all fronts particularly on the law and order front in Kashmir, he claimed. "Moreover, corruption, scams and land encroachment have reached a peak during these three years. While the State Vigilance Organisation and State Accountability Commission are defunct, senior state functionaries including some ministers are openly indulging in loot and bribery," he alleged. State BJP Chief Spokesperson and National Executive Member Dr Jitendra Singh who also was accompanying the party state president alleging same said that booklet released by Omar Abdullah to highlight coalition regime is aimed to project chief minister and his cabinet through photos sessions only and seemed to confine only see the things through coalition's Glasses.' Referring to NC activist Haji Yousuf Shah's mysterious death at the residence of chief minister, Dr Singh reiterated party's demand and demanded CBI inquiry into it. He said while chief minister is claiming to have generated jobs for youth, but the circumstances for the educated youth have not changed as Sher-e-Kashmir employment policy and New Recruitment Policy proved nothing but a joke to youth of state. Earlier rejecting the tall claims of empowering the democratic roots of democracy, BJP leaders said the coalition has denied Panchayat elections of its rights and said that it was meaningless without 73rd & 74th amendments. BJP leaders said that instead of counting false achievements, the chief minister should give an account of funds received from the centre as the party peeps misappropriations in the funds allocated by the centre to various schemes . |
