| "Karya khaas" at Rly Stn sells tickets," collects" money from dhabawalas, others | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 17: A selection grade cop (SGC), who acts as "karya khaas" at railway station here, has allegedly been indulging in all types of illegal activities for the past 18 years but no senior officer has so far bothered to either remove him, or take action against him.
He allegedly indulges in blackmarketing of railway tickets and arranges reservations for senior police officers. During his 18 years of stay at the railway station, he has remained blue-eyed of all his immediate seniors.
Sources in railway police said when the matter was brought to the notice of senior officers, including DSP Mukesh Kakkar, they had not borthered to take any action against the SGC.
"The SGC every month allegedly collects money from vendors, dhabawalas, hotliers and others," the sources added.
Sources said whenever someone had brought the matter to the notice of the DSP, or other senior officers, he had to face the cop's wrath.
Recently the SGC was asked to undergo six months training at PTA, Udhampur, but he had not been going there daily. He could be seen at the railway station, the sources added.
Sources said though he was transferred many times during his 18-year-long stay at the railway station, he had managed to come back every time. |
