| PHE workers discuss various demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 17: PHE Workers Welfare Association held meeting under the leadership of Bakshi Singh, provincial president to discuss the burning issues of the PHE field and operational staff.
After threadbare discussion on the issues, association has decided to hold protest demonstration against the PHE authority. The association has urged upon the Chief Engineer PHE department Jammu to immediately release at least 5 months backlog wages of workers and also wages of these workers be paid before 5th of every month regularly and the daily rated workers who have completed more than 5 years be brought on regular establishment. It also demanded sanction to the leftout cadres which have been benefitted as per SRO-59. On the occasion, the association decided to conduct fresh election of PHE city division on 18-1-2012.
Among others who were present in the meeting were Subesh Verma, provincial general secretary, Surinder Kumar, Babu Singh, Surjit Singh, Chuni Lal, Bansi Lal, Vijay Singh, Rakesh Sharma, Ram Gopal, Ravi Kumar, Romesh Singh, Rattan Lal, Ram Parkeesh and Varun Dogra.
