| Advanced operation for stress incontinence held at Government Hospital Sarwal | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU , January 17 : Two patients were treated and operated to be relieved of stress incontinence by Trans Obturator Tapes (TOT) at Operation theater of Government Hospital Sarwal .
In stress incontinence especially in women is a condition where the women who have delivered children get leakage of urine on coughing. This condition is found in 10-20% females and is very distressing. The tapes cost about 21500/- for one patient and are being provided free at Government Hospital Sarwal Jammu for few patients in collaboration with Johnson and Johnson (Ethicon Division)
Dr Anil Mehta Senior Gynaecologist along with others operated on the patients. Other gynecologists who were present in the theater were Dr Jyotsana Lamba, Dr Kamini Gupta, Dr Jahanara, Dr Shafiqua, Dr Sapna, Dr Belu Sharma, Dr Javeda. Anesthetists during surgery were Dr Kamal Gandotra & Dr Shelly Mahajan.
Other staff who assisted and contributed in successful performance of the operation were Rajesh Sharma and Rajinder Sharma both Theater Technicians, Staff Nurse Sunita and class iv employee Uttam. Medical Superintendent Government Hospital Sarwal, Jammu .
Dr Arun Sharma congratulated the team of Doctors for performance of this procedure and said that under the present ministry of Sham Lal Sharma Minister For Health, Horticulture and Floriculture and Sarwal Hospital has attained a status and we have been motivated and appreciated by the minister in performing these kind of new procedures and are working at par with Medical Education and other institutions even outside the state.
