| Aditi all set to become first ever women chess champion | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu July 31 Aditi Sharma with 4 points by winning all its matches with consummate ease against her opponents is all set to win the first ever J&K State Women Chess Championship which commence today at Luthra Building here today followed by .Aakanksha Sharma and Anupama Bhatt with 3 points each. Baldev Raj General Secretary of All J&K Chess Association conducting the championship declared open the tournament by lighting the traditional lamp. In his address, he expressed his happiness over the conduct of first ever chess championship for women and hoped that the next tournament would record maximum number of women participants in the championship. Others who were present on the occasion wereAtul Kumar president and Pawan Gupta Vice President. otal 7 players are participating in the championship. Tomororow will be the final day of the championship and the prize distribution function will be held at 2 pm. Following are the results of all the four round matches played today:
1st Round: Aditi Sharma bt Riya Mahajan, Aakanksha Sharma bt Poonam Gupta and Anupama Bhatt bt Poonam Gupta. 2nd Round: Aditi Sharma bt Poonam Gupta, Aakaksha Sharma bt Riya Mahajan and Anupama Gupta bt Rashi Thusu.
3rd Round: Aditi Sharma bt Aakanksha Sharma, Rashi Thusu bt Poonam Gupta and Anupama Bhatt bt Riya Mahajan.
4th Round: Aditi Sharma bt Poonam Gupta, Aakanksha Sharma bt Rashi Thusu and Poonam Gupta bt Riya Mahajan.
