| Camera surveillance: opposition demands facts about grenade attacks | | |
Jammu, Jan 15 Main opposition National Conference today grilled the government over the issue of frequent grenade attacks in the valley despite the fact that close circuit cameras have been installed to keep a watch on suspicious persons. Alleging that Govt is shrouding the factual position regarding the frequent grenade attacks in Srinagar and its peripheries, National Conference alleged that despite spending lot of money on this project nothing has come out of it. Unsatisfied over the government’s reply on their clubbed call attention motion, Ali Mohammad Sagar and Mir Saifullah followed by Sharief-u-din Shariq staged a walk out. Earlier, they accused the government of being reluctant to divulge the facts about the attacks, and demanded that it should come up with the findings it has been able to establish with the help of close circuit cameras put at various spots. “ Many question’s are being raised about the attacks as militant organizations have repeatedly denied involvement in the grenade explosion’s at public places” Sagar said while contesting the claims of CAPD Minister Taj Mohi-u-din, “who said government is equally keen to know about the people behind these attacks”. Referring to the attacks on tourists during last summer, Sagar said, all these incidents are shrouded in mystery, adding that nothing is known about the person, who was caught red handed at Narbal Sumbal while throwing a grenade at Dalgate . Earlier, replying to the call attention motion, Taj said that the ex- gratia has been sanctioned to next of the kin who were killed in recent grenade attack at Shopian.
