Dy CM enquires arrangements made for stranded passengers at Bus Stand | Directs officers for providing better facilities | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JANUARY 17:- Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand today visited Bus Stand Jammu and enquired about the facilities being provided to the stranded passengers due to the closure of National Highway. He was accompanied by MLA Inderwal Mr. G. M. Saroori, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Chief Engineer UEED, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Mr. Sanjeev Verma, SSP Jammu Mr. Parbhat Singh, Commissioner JMC Mr. S. C. Sawhney and other senior officers of Jammu Development Authority (JDA). He directed the administration to provide better facilities to the stranded passenger including medical facilities at Bus Stand and other areas where they are accommodated. He directed Commissioner JMC for ensuring health and hygiene at these locations. Interacting with the stranded passengers at bus stand here, Mr Tara Chand said that the process of the clearance of National Highway has been taken up on priority basis and the concerned agencies have been directed to complete the task within days so that the stranded persons would reach their destination at the earliest. He said if required air authorities will be requested for air lifting of the stranded passengers. He was informed that the National Highway is open for one side from Jammu to Srinagar today and some passengers were allowed to proceed for Srinagar. He assured the people that government has been taking all necessary measures to accommodate the stranded passengers and providing requisite facilities in Jammu till the road reopens.
