Bhalla conducts tour of Srinagar city, Take stock of the situation caused by recent snowfall | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, JANUARY 17: The Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla today conducted an extensive tour of Srinagar city particularly interior city of Shari Khas and reviewed the steps taken at divisional level for clearing roads, heating arrangements in city hospitals, providing of essential commodities to consumers by CAPD, restoration of electricity, drinking water and other basic amenities of the people. The Minister visited Nowhatta, Rainawari, historical Jamia Masjid, Karan Nagar and other areas and get first hand information about clearance of roads, supply of essentials, electricity, drinking water and after interacting with a number of people during his visit, expressed satisfaction over the availability of essentials and the steps taken by the administration for lifting of snow from the roads, links roads and also at district headquarters. The Minister also visited Rainawari Hospital and Government Gousia Hospital, Srinagar and inspected various wards. He interacted with the patients and enquired about the medicare and medicines provided to them. The Minister stressed for streamlining the heating system, so that the patients may not feel any difficulties during this winter season. Earlier, the Minister visited historical Jamia Masjid and talked with the locals. The Minister assured the people that their genuine demands would be looked into and their grievances would be redressed. He said that the coalition government is committed to mitigate the problems and assured full support from the government. He said that every effort will be made to solve the problems of the people. The Minister was accompanied by the District Development Commissioner, Srinagar and other senior officers.
