Fake currency valuing Rs 50,000 seized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Jan 17: Poonch police claimed to have recovered fake currency of Rs 50, 000 from a person in Jammu and Kashmir bank situated in the area here today. Police sources said that the seizure was made when one Mohd Aslam son of Abdullah of Janala area in Poonch district tried to deposit Rs 50, 000 in the J&K bank branch of Lasana. However the bank employee became suspicious during scrutiny of the notes and found the currency was not original. Thereafter he informed police seeing huge cache of the counterfeit currency, but the depositor escaped from the spot, leaving behind the fake currency. Meanwhile Police with the help of CCTV cameras managed to establish the identity of the person and has registered a case in this regard was registered FIR number 7 of 2012 and manhunt for the absconder was also in progress by police, till further details poured in.
