Central schemes aimed for upliftment of poor artisans and others: Chairman KVIC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Jan 17: Desh Raj Gautam, Chairman, Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) , Zonal Committee (North Zone) and Member, Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Ministry of M S & M E, Govt of India made a visit to Jammu & Kashmir during his month long tour to all the States of North under his jurisdiction. Gautam has been recently appointed as a Zonal lncharge to look after the developmental work of KVI sector in the States of Northern India. Interacting with media persons here today Gautam informed that he was entrusted with responsibility of development of all the States of North Zone by the Govt of India through various schemes of KVlC which are framed for upliftment of the poor artisans, Spinners and Weavers. During his 3-day tour to State 5hri Gautam addressed the trainees of 15 day training on Beekeeping on its concluding day and encouraged the trainees to adopt the beekeeping in a professional way. Gautam also addressed the participants of Awareness Camp on PMEGP at Hiranagar and encouraged them to avail the facility of upto 35% Govt. Subsidy for setting up of units under the scheme. Gautam addressed the Bankers who are engaged in finance to the beneficiaries: of KVle under various schemes and emphasised them to make the process of sanction and reimbursement easy, comfortable and artisan friendly.
