Gul monitors supplies, restoration works in valley | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 18-To take stock of the situation arising due to heavy snowfall and closure of National Highway, Advisor to Chief Minister Mubarak Gul on Wednesday arrived in summer capital, which continues to reel under intense cold. On the instructions of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah the Advisor is monitoring the availability of stock and supply position of various essentials particularly the cooking gas, restoration of various works damaged to the snow and incessant rains besides clearance of snow from the roads. The Advisor along-with a team of senior officers visited various areas including Safakadal, Chattabal, Sakidafar, Nalahmar road, Iddgah, Syeedpora where a number of deputations and individuals met and apprised him of their grievances. Mubark Gul said the official machinery has been further geared up to meet the situation and to ensure that the problems of the people are mitigated. To check profiteering and black-marketing the squads of the concerned agencies are maintaining close vigil on the markets. The Advisor exhorted the officers and field agencies of various departments to redouble their efforts in ensuring that all the essentials are made available to the people and any attempt of hoarding dealt with sternly. |
