BHADERWAH, Jan 18 : Former Minister and MLA Bhadarwah Mohd Sharief Niaz in a statement has urged the state government for providing free ration for at least six months to the people of erstwhile District Doda as the crops have been fully damaged due to heavy snow fall in the entire district. He also urged for supply of Atta instead of wheat because the water mills are not functional as well are not accessible due to heavy snow in the area and people are facing a lot of difficulties for getting the essential commodities. Niaz has appreciated the decision taken by the government for accommodating the stranded passengers of Kashmir Valley in the Yatri Nivas at Jammu. He said there is a great resentment among the stranded public of District Doda, Rajouri, Poonch and Udhapur who are not being provided like facilities and are suffering badly due to road blockage and accordingly has urged the government for providing necessary facilities like free lodging, food and medicines to the stranded passengers at Jammu till the roads are through for vehicular traffic.
