Legislative Assembly today discussed six private members’ resolutions of Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, Harsh Dev Singh, Mr. Chaman Lal, Mr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Mr. Yash Paul Kundal and Mr. Abdul Gani Malik.
The amendments proposed by Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Mr. Mir Saifullah, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar, Mr. Ajay Kumar Sadhotra and Mr. Qaiser Jamshed Lone were also considered along with main resolutions.
All these members putforth their views on the resolutions and amendments. The resolutions were replied by Minister for CAPD Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Minister for Social Welfare Haji Nisar Ali, Minister for Power Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora and Minister of State for Planning Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz. The resolutions were put to vote and fell by majority voice vote. The resolutions pertained to establishment of Hill Councils for Poonch, Rajouri, Kupwara etc and creation of districts at Billawar, Mahore, tehsil status for Gool, Arnas, Chasana, Sogam, Lolab and Kalaroos, creations of new reservation in employment for SC & STs, free power to farmers, enhancement of honorarium to numberdar and Chowkidars helpers.
During the brief discussion on the Bills Members other than movers who expressed their views on the Bills include, Mian Altaf, Dr. Mehboob Baig, Mr. Javid Rana, Mr. Rachpal Singh, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Khan, Mr. Abdul Majid Wani and Thakur Puran Singh.
