| Increase pension to ex-legislators: Singh; Takroo asks Govt to solve problems of ISM medicos; Naz welcomes peace process | | | Jammu, Jan 15 While appreciating the Governor’s Address S. Pardhuman Singh demanded enhancement of pension of ex-legislators. He also said that assembly seats should be increased on the basis of population and topography of the state. Mr. A. R. Takroo highlighted problems of unemployed ISM doctors. He stressed the need for taking up of employment generating projects by encouraging private ventures. He also raised issue of security of state subjects outside the state. Describing preponing of budget session a historic one Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil said it will provide optimum time to government and legislators to monitor schemes on ground. Welcoming opening of various links with Pakistan Mr. B. A. Naz said it has proved panacea to the divided families. He advocated opening of all the meeting points with the neighbouring country. He also raised issues regarding power and water supply. Mr. Bilal Ahmed Lodhi appreciated 25% increase in the Assembly constituencies. He said that five working groups formed in 2nd round table conference have yielded fruitful results. He said that the establishment of Additional District Development Commissioners is an important step taken by the government. Mr. Lone demanded enhancement of honorarium of Chowkidars and Numberdars. He also demanded enhancement of monthly wages of Rehbar-e- teachers. G. N. Lone highlighted problems of people working in Agriculture and Horticulture sector. Sakina Itoo highlighted problems of people regarding shortage of essential commodities in various parts of state. Lal Mohammad Sabir spoke in favour praised the government for taking revolutionary steps for peace and development.
