Govt should come out with White Paper: Andrabi | Adulterated milk | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan 18: "Isn't this alarming to know that more than eighty percent of the packaged food supplied in Jammu & Kashmir was adulterated and poisonous? Why is the government silent on the adulterated milk report? Why action has not been initiated? Why are not the people of J&K briefed about the measures the government is planning (if any) to deal with the issue? Isn't this silence criminal?" asked Darakhshan Andrabi reacting on the issue of recent report on the adulterated milk and milk products in the state of J&K. She said that why have not the existing hundreds of non-governmental organizations and intelligentsia of the state raised voice against this catastrophic situation. She said that we are forced to feed poison to all daily from a child to an adult. "Isn't this an act of terrorism? Are the concerned certifying authorities getting commission from this adulterated milk mafia?" asked Darakhshan. She said that the certifying authorities should immediately be booked for allowing this criminal mafia operation at the cost of the lives of the people of the state. Darakhshan said that Food Safety Act was not at all being followed in J&K. She asked the government to come out with a white paper on the report recently released. She demanded the constitution of a Food Safety Commission in the state with a full fledged & empowered Commissioner to head it.
