Restore essential commodities in snow bound areas, demands Harsh | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 18 : Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (NPP) MLA Harsh Dev Sigh has instructed all officers of Power Development deptt. ; R&B; Rural Development; Food and Supplies; PHE; Health Deptt.; besides others to ensure early restoration of essential services and accelerate the pace of relief measures and supplies in the snow bound areas of block Dudu Basantgarh Block. He said that large scale disruption has been caused in the power sector; Roads sector; PHE and irrigation systems besides others which need initiation of remedial measures on war footing. He called upon the District Administration Udhampur to depute adequate number of relief teams as well as monitoring teams comprising of officers of different departments so that the sufferings of the hard pressed public could be mitigated. Singh strongly condemned the govt. for acquiring snow cutlers exclusively for Kashmir valley and neglecting all the snow bound areas of Jammu province. He said that while only JCB machines, which are solely meant for road construction, have been deployed in the various districts of Jammu region for snow clearance, the districts of Kashmir have been provided with snow cutlers. He alleged that the govt. act was not only discriminatory and utterly biased but was highly offensive and irregular as the JCB machines deployed for snow clearance had caused great damage to the Pacca roads in various areas. He urged upon the govt. to deploy snow cutlers in the affected areas of Jammu region on the analogy of Kashmir so as to save our roads from damage. He further demanded argumentation in the supplies of Kerosene, oil, medicines besides other civil supplies. He called for grant of immediate ex- gratia for damaged houses and also demanded early restoration of telecom network so that people of the remote areas could communicate with the local administration. |
