Joint meeting reviews security ahead of 'Punjab Polls' | | | EARLY TIMES report
KATHUA, Jan 19: Ahead of the Punjab Polls a high level meeting was held at Lakhanpur Kathua by Election observers (Punjab) to review Security Grid between J&K and Punjab.Official spokesperson said that Election Observers Vikram Bani IRS (Finance), Modi Reddy Partap IPS (AP), Dr K Ellan Govan IAS Security to Government of Kerla, J L Sharma IPS SSP Kathua, Dr Surinder Kumar SSP Pathankot, V S Joon Commandant 121 Bn CRPF and Zahid Manhas Addl Supdt of Police Kathua attended the meeting. During the meeting the participants discussed measures to be taken for smooth conduct of Election to be held on January 30th 2012 in Punjab State were discussed in length. Issues regarding Naka Checking, Naka Strengthening, patrolling for plugging of routes of smuggling check on liquor flow, fake currency, weapon smuggling were discussed in length and strategy chalked out. Members in the meeting also discussed for smooth conduct of election and to thwart nefarious designs of Anti National/Anti Social elements. Besides above said officials others who attended the meeting included Dy SP Hqrs, DySP DAR DPL Kathua, SHO P/S Kathua /Hiranagar/Rajbagh/Lakhanpur I/C PP BasantPur, Nagri and etc.
