| SIKH LI organizes cultural meet for school children | | | Jammu Jan 15 To meet its social commitments and give exposure to the children, the Krishna Ghati Brigade through Sikh LI unit organized a cultural program with a theme of ‘One India’ for the school children of the area on the eve of Army Day today. Over 2000 children from 25 school participated in the cultural event, which was inaugurated by Krishna Ghati Brigade Brigadier Gurdeep Singh. The village elders and VDC members also witnessed the program that included group songs, group dance and picture paintings. As a good will gesture, the Prabat Ali Battalion also distributed stationery articles free of cost to all children, besides hosting a lunch to the participating children. The programs presented on the occasion displayed extraordinary talent of the children besides showcasing the cultural traditions of the area. The gathering repeatedly applauded the performance of the children. Awards were also given to the participating children and the school that was adjusted the best. Addressing the gathering, Brigader Singh reiterated his commitment for the upliftment of the remote villagers, while the locals, most of them Gujjars and Bakerwals, expressed gratitude for the interest shown by Army towards development of Krishna Ghati area, especially the programs initiated for all round development of children which was beyond their reach and visualization so far.
