| Court denies bail in forgery case | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan 19: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, Jatinder Singh Jamwal today rejected the bail application of Haq Nawaz Ahmed Mir s/o Lt Abdul Rahim Mir who produced forged documents regarding the marriage with non-Muslim girl in the State High Court.
On the direction of the High Court Registrar Judicial conducted enquiry regarding documents and it was found that there is no Munsiff in the State Judiciary by the name of KS Sethi. Upon this High Court directed Crime Branch to register case and start investigation. Accordingly the Crime Branch registered FIR No 1/2012 u/s 420/511/193/465/466/470 & 120-B RPC against the accused.
The court after hearing CPO Harminder Singh for the state and counsel for the accused observed that Haq Nawaz Ahmed who allegedly contracted marriage with a non-muslim girl has produced fake marriage registered documents. Court after enquiry about the judicial officer indicated his name KS Sethi, it was found that no such person by this name in the Jammu & Kashmir Judicial Service. Court further observed that the way and the manner in which the circumstances has taken place, Court have no hesitation in observing that same is blatant to undermine the prestige and dignity of the institution of the judiciary. The accused in the case like one do not deserve concession of bail particularly when the investigation is at initial stage and the other accused is yet to be arrested. With these observations Court dismissed the bail application of the accused. --- (JNF) |
