DDC finalizes arrangements for the ensuing Eid Milad Nabi

SRINAGAR, Jan 19: District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Baseer Ahmad Khan along with senior functionaries of district administration Srinagar today finalized the arrangements for the ensuing Eid-Milad Nabi (SA). District Development Commissioner gave instructions to the concerned officers for monitoring proper arrangements for un-interrupted supply of power and water. He also directed for making suitable arrangements for security traffic, parking and transport.
He was apprised that medical camps have been established in the Shrine. He was also informed that proper sanitation is being made in and around Hazratbal Shrine.
District Development Commissioner asked the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar to assign the Magistrates in the vicinity of Hazratbal Shrine. Khan directed the SMC to take extra care of cleanliness of Hazratbal Shrine days, adequate number of moveable temporary toilet facilities separately for male and female and adequate number of garbage shed be provided and also deploy Safai Karamchari squads to the venue well in advance during the Urs days. The Fire and Emergency Services would also help SMC for cleanliness of roads through their fire tenders. District Development Commissioner asked the Traffic Police to regulate the movement of traffic leading towards Hazratbal Shrine and the special care shall be taken from Hawal to Lal Bazar by using the Rake system at Madin Sahib to Bota Kadal. He directed the SRTC will provide the adequate number of buses during the Urs days in the early morning and late evening and the Regional Transport Officer Kashmir will personally supervise the smooth traffic movement to avoid the traffic conjunction. The District Development Commissioner directed ADC Revenue will establish round the clock Control Room during the Urs days at Hazratbal Shrine.
Khan directed the Chief Medical Officer Srinagar to provide the sufficient arrangements of First Aid Medicine and keep ambulance ready at his camp near the Shrine and adequate number of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff be deployed well in advance and he will prepare duty roaster in advance. The PHE department directed to ensure the deployment of sufficient number of water tankers at Hazratbal Shrine and sufficient storage of water in the Wozoo Khanas of the Shrine and will also install temporary screens for ablution on the bank of Dal Lake. The CAPD would ensure the availability of LPG, Sugar, Rice and Atta in the entire district and shall remain personally available any additional requirement.
The PDD would ensure uninterrupted power supply during Urs days and installed additional number of street lights at vulu nerable points wherever required.
