JAMMU, Jan 19: State volleyball teams today left for participation in the 38th Junior (boys and girls) National Championship to be held at Durgapur in West Bengal under the banner of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir. The state contingent is comprised of 27-members, including three officials. Giving details of the competition, general secretary of the Association, Kuldeep Magotra said that the state boys' team has placed in group-D with Haryana, Kerela, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Triputa. Similarly, the girls' team has been pitted against West Bengal, Haryana, Jharkhand, Delhi and Pondicherry in group-C. Earlier, before their departure the teams were wished success at Shastri Nagar play fields by incharge secretary of State Sports Council, Kiran Wattal and other office bearers of the Association. The Teams: Boys: Vikrant Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Umar Nasib, Imran Fazili, Devinder Guleria, Anil Singh, Puyush, BAkhtar Singh and Surjeet Singh. Girls: Shabnam, Shivali Kumari, Vineeta Sumbli, Anjana Manhas, Shalvi Charak, Meenakshi, Zinat Bhagat, Ashu Sharma, Ravinder Kour, Tazeem Akhtar and Shivali.; Mohd Tariq and Madhuri Jamwal are accompanying as managers while Muneer Ahmed is coach. |
