| Fraudster booked for withdrawing Rs 30 lacs as relief | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 19: Crime Branch, Jammu today registered a case u/s 420,465, 467,468,471 RPC against one Shadi Lal Pandita of Jagti, Nagrota who has fraudulently withdrawn an amount of Rs 30 lacs as relief from the Govt. Treasury after managing fraudulent and fictitious Ration Cards of different zones under relief category.
Spokesperson of Crime Branch stated that brief facts of the case are that a letter from Dy Secretary to Govt General Administration Department was received at the Crime Headquarters, the contents of which reveal that one Shadi Lal Pandita S/o Sarvanand Pandita R/o Jagti Nagrota has fraudulently withdrawn an amount of Rs 30 lacs as relief from the Govt Treasury after managing fraudulent and fictitious Ration Cards of different zones under relief category on the names of his family members.
"In the verification conducted by Relief Organisation, it was found that the said family was in possession of eight Ration Cards, spokesperson said further adding that Shadi Lal Pandita has also managed a separate Ration Card on the name of his wife and is also drawing relief which clearly depicts that he has deceived the department and caused huge loss to the state ex-chequer. Investigation of the case is in progress. |
