Court granted bail to FCI Employee in food scam | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan 20: J&K High Court Jammu Wing granted pre-arrest bail to one Surinder Singh an employee of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) with the direction that in the event of his arrest in connection with FIR No 17/2009 u/s 409/420/468/120-B RPC registered at Police Station Crime Branch Srinagar. Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice Hasnain Massodi after hearing Adv Abhinav Sharma, granted pre-arrest bail to one Surinder Singh s/o S Amar Singh r/o Digiana Camp Jammu an employee of the Food Corporation of India with the direction that in the event of his arrest in connection with FIR No 17/2009 u/s 409/420/468/120-B RPC registered at Police Station Crime Branch Srinagar and FIR No 20/2009 u/s 420/406/120-B RPC r/w section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act registered at P/S Crime Branch Jammu with the directions that the petitioner furnishes bail bond to the tune of Rs 50,000 and personal bond in the like amount to the satisfaction of officer effecting arrest. He shall make himself available for interrogation by a police officer as and when required. According to the FIRs the allegations that certain trucks loaded with food grains dispatched from various depots situated at Jammu to Kashmir Division, did not reached the destinantion and it was alleged that food grains stood misappropriated by the contractor in league with certain officials of food corporation of India. Though no official was specifically named and petitioner seeking bail in anticipation of his arrest. --- (JNF) |
