| Katra Seniors trounce Rajouri XI by 4 wkts in Reasi Cup | | |

JAMMU, Jan 20: Sailing on superb contributions with the bat from Aditya Koshik and Nitish Lochu, Katra Seniors Cricket Club defeated Rajouri XI by 4 wickets to advance in the ongoing Reasi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Reasi Cricket Club in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) at ports Stadium, Reasi.
Earlier, batting first, Rajouri XI scored 158 for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Bhupi scored a splendid half-century (57) with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes, while Nitish and Boni contributed 29 and 21 runs to the total respectively. For Katra Seniors, Varun Anand was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets in his quota of four overs by conceding 31 runs, while Barun and Nitish Lochu claimed one wicket each.
Katra Seniors, in reply chased the target in 17 overs by losing 6 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 4 wickets.
Aditya Koshik played a fabulous innings of 65 runs including seven fours and two sixes, while Nitish Lochu also contributed well made 46 runs to the winning cause. Boni scalped 3 wickets for Rajouri XI, while Bali claimed 2 and Firdous one. Aditya Koshik of Katra Seniors was adjudged man of the match for his superb knock of 65 runs.
The match was officiated by Nitin Anand and Sanjay Sharma as umpires, while Ajaz Malik maintained the scorebook.
Meanwhile, Ajitha Begum, SDPO Reasi inaugurated today's match, while NC leader Sher Singh was the special guest on the occasion. The tournament is being held under the supervision of Nadeem Bhat, Vikas Baru and Vikas Sharma. |
