Airlift stranded passengers from Kishtwar: JKNPP | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 20: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party on Friday asked the state government to airlift stranded passengers from Kishtwar-Doda region, which is badly hit by heavy snowfall and is cut off from rest of the state. "We urge the administration to immediately airlift the stranded passengers from snow-hit areas of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts without any delay," Provincial General Secretary (Jammu Province) Anil Parihar told reporters. He also expressed concern over the situation in Kishtwar due to heavy snow fall. In Kishtwar, roads are blocked and hundreds of vehicles of both passenger as well as load carriers are stranded on the road from Batote to Kishtwar and Kishtwar to Paddar and Chhatro area. There is a scarcity of essential commodities like food items and kerosene oil. People are facing problems due to non availability of these commodities on government depots, he said. He alleged that government has totally failed in providing the essential commodities to the people. He also urged the government to assess the losses caused by the snowfall to the people's properties in district Kishtwar and pay them the adequate compensation. |
