| Seminar on importance of ‘iodized salt’ organized in RS Pura | | |
Jammu, Jan 15
The Poonch Unit of Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, organized a seminar on “Importance of Iodised Salt” at Government High School Koitli Shah Daula in R.S.Pura block of Jammu district today. As many as seven students drawn from nearby schools took part in the seminar and exhorted the people to ensure daily intake of iodine for their overall improvement in health. The students presented skits and presented a cultural program to focus attention of the people on the subject. The participating students said that odine deficiency poses the danger to the physical and mental growth of babies besides causing goiter, dullness and fatigue etc
Smt.Vimla Kumari, Headmistress of the school presided over the function and also distributed prizes among the participants. Over 300 students, teachers participated in this program. The Photo Exhibition and other tools of mass communication were fully exploited to bring home the objective of the program.
