| NC responsible for exodus of KPs from Valley: Bhan | | 'Community wants answer from Abdullahs' | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 20 : Ashok Bhan , senior Advocate,General Secretary J & k Congress Party and a prominent Kashmri Pandit,today held NC Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah responsible for mass exodus of Kashmir Pandits from Kashmir Valley 22 years back when the entire community became victim of terror and was hounded out its soil in a pathetic manner, under a well laid out strategy and plan by ISI and their supporters in the state.
While addressing the Kashmiri gathering sitting on Dharna at JANTAR MANTAR New Delhi for 23rd.year of forced exile , said all successive State & Central Govts. have failed to create conducive atmospherics for the return of Kashmiri Pandits To the Valley their homeland.23 years have gone by ,the Valley is part of India yet Kashmir today is without Kashmiri Pandits,who are forced to live in apauling conditions as refugees in their own Country.
Bhan,recalled how Dr.Farooq Abdullah created a political vacum in 1989-1990 by resinging his Government and allowed the space for terror elements armed by ISI and Jihadis from Pakistan to operate and how terrorists executed the strategyy of Killing one and scaring a thousand of Kahmiri Pandits resulting in killings of hundreds and hounded the entire community out of Valley.In the process he & his family fled the State & the Country.
"We demand an answer from Abdullas,besides a high level probe into the culpablity of elements who are responsible for the ethinic cleansing of Pandits and for change of demographic profile of the Valley and its radicalization"Bhan said adding that Kashmir ethos would always be incomplete without Pandits presense in the Valley and peace,stability and progress will elude without inclusion of Pandits.
Bhan urged Manmohan Singh led UPA Govt. to liberally fund the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley.
This community has great contributions in consolidation of modern India through visionary Pt.Nehru,Indira ji,Rajiv Gandhi and scores of other Pandits."Evev if coffers of the Nation State get emptied it is still less for dignified return & honorable rehabilitation", he said. He also urged AICC President Sonia Gandhi to induct a cabinet Minister in the state Govt, and give requsite representation in other foras and Rajya Sabha. |
