| NSS organize cleanliness drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan 20: NSS unit of Sant Rocha Singh Degree College today organized a cleanliness drive in the picturesque tourist spot of Bagh-e-Bahu in this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir State. Around 50 volunteers of the College alongwith Prof. Randhir Singh, Program Officer of NSS unit participated in the drive. The volunteers besides cleaning the garden complex also educated the tourists present on the spot about the ill effects of the polythene and plastic waste on the environment. Program Officer also told the visitors that use of polythene has already been prohibited under the law of land. Earlier, Principal of the College, Dr. Nater Singh lauded the efforts of volunteers in generating the awareness among different sections of society. Chairman, Prof. Ranbir Singh Ex- DSW University of Jammu laid stress on adopting an austere lifestyle and sustainable living habits so that adequate resources could be spared for the coming generations. it is pertinent to mention here that the College NSS unit has been working under the able guidance of Prof. Jasbir Singh, Program Coordinator NSS University of Jammu. |
