EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Jan 20: A departure from common practice of performing a play in a routine mode, Nav Durga Kala Manch took up a challenging task of highlighting a woman's dilemma presented through a pathetic narration of a whore in the ongoing friday theater series.
Entitled as "Vaishya", today's solo rendition of the woman's plight of living the life of a whore, the performer in Komal Parihar brought to the fore a sensational aspect that was performed to the clinical precision.
Dilshad Shazi, who wrote and directed the script had included all ingredients of a whole some drama that touched the core story line of the pathos of a Vaishya that was beautifully enacted by the solo performer Komal Parihar.
The girl showed a promising actor in making as she executed the pathetic narration of a whore to her potential best.
The gist contained a contemporary social stigma of society where women is exploited by the male dominant society that makes ill-use of the weaker section thus pushing the females into the prostitution.
Dilshad's Concept of a vaishya can be termed as romantic tragedy for the proscenium theater wherein the dramatic element comes to fore in expressing the real drama in the issue. The upcoming writer/ director has done a commendable job. Komal parihar used her histrionics to her clinical best.
Vikram Sharma, noted theatrist of the state being chief guest on the occasion termed the novel attempt as another stepping stone towards success by Aaditya Bhanu and his company. He hoped the sensitive and daring subjects being taken up at Performing Art Studio would go a long way in keeping the morale buoyed for the Gen-X in the field of Drama, make-up was done by Reetu Manhas while lights were executed by Kamaljit Singh and music was handled by Tarun Sharma.
