| PDP scores while NC and others limp behind | | Community Kitchen: | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 20: in the ongoing crisis of hostile weather the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged as a gainer when it today organized a Community Kitchen (Langer) for the stranded passengers whereas National Conference and others mainstream political parties failed to hold such an event when it was direly needs by rising above the political ideologies.
When the state government proved slow in mitigating the problems of the stranded passengers who are forced to live in severe cold conditions in open at General Bus Stand Jammu or elsewhere the PDP took the lead by organizing 'Community Kitchen cum interaction' at Bus Stand. The Party leaders emerged winner by soothing the stranded people when state government formally did its responsibilities by just organizing a 'Community Kitchen.'
The PDP leaders namely Abdul Rehman Veeri, MLA, Basharat Bukhari, MLA, Mohammad Dilawar Mir and Thakur Balbir Singh (both general secretaries of PDP) along with Avtar Singh Khalsa and Ashok Jogi today reached General Bus Stand Jammu and interacted with stranded passengers there.
While interacted with stranded passengers. PDP leaders expressed their anguish over failure of the government to take these passengers to their destinations. They regretted that this year's first snowball has exposed tall claims of the state government. They further pointed out that these passengers have been stranded for the last more than 10 days but the authorities have failed to make any proper arrangements for them.
Thereafter PDP leaders along with the stranded passengers took out demonstration and started march towards Civil Secretariat. However the heavy deployment of police didn't allow them to proceed towards Civil Secretariat. |
