1/16/2007 12:55:28 AM

Jammu Jan 15
The Protest and Dahrna Programme staged by Rehber-e-Taleem and EV’s in order to fulfill their demands today enters in 6th day. This Protest is the reaction of governments apathy towards the demands of Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers which include inclusion of Contractual period in the Service records. Enhancement of monthly wages upt the basic pay. Regularisation of EVS and upgradation of Egs centers. Minimization of Contractual period up to three years and extension of benefits of SRO 43 to ReT teachers. While speaking on the occasion chairman of the ReT Teachers forum Gazi Abdul Aziz termed the ReT Scheme as a violation of human rights like equal wages for equal work and right to employment of the highly educated youths of the state. The highly educated youths opted the Scheme in 2000 due to non-availability of Job opportunities and Prevailing financial dearth at that time. Gazi warned the government that if it will not realize this human Issue at this time, the whole society will be involved in the agitation. Keeping this human issue in view the Govt. should fulfill the demands of ReT teachers at an earliest in order to improve the basic Educational Scenario of the State, because only an economically satisfied teacher can build the destiny of the nation.
Earlier a deputation of ReT Teachers calls on Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed and highlighted their genuine demands before him. The minister assured them that all their problems will be solved after assembly session is over.
The deputation warned the administration that they may go for self imolatay if their demands are not met.
