| From plaza into a restaurant, 'Mulaqaat' makes ripples | | Restaurant Theatre | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 21: How a common discussion among three to four people having met at a public plaza in a city somewhere reaches a restaurant only to find them involved in a hot debate of a social stigma turned
into a "Theatre Restaurant" was the theme of the Weekend Theater by Rangshala.
The novel concept originated among the four stalwarts of state's theatrical spectrum viz Vikram Sharma, Umesh Singh Sapna Soni and Himanshu Darshan who recently afresh from their stint in Chandigarh
with Haadsa; Haqeeqat!, who had met for future endeavors entered into a debate over the women empowerment that took all four into a Chanakya restaurant nearby for a cup of tea that became a dramatic scene for the people present on the occasion.
The rendezvous later termed as 'Mulaqaat' that started with pros and cons of women freedom in present scenario ended into a theatrical presentation by the foursome was keenly watched and cherished by the
sizeable customers present at Chanakya Restaurant.
The debate that was only termed 'Mulaqaat' - a name synonym with the experimentation of the event mooted by Umesh Singh who in the process had turned as artist director of the same later turned up as a wholesome theatrical presentation under the "Restaurant Theatre' theme.
Though the storyline of the debate was mainly focused on the women empowerment as well as freedom to the women in society, the enactment presented by the four artists put up a very natural appearance of the
act which until reaching its logical conclusion was only watched with great surprise and keenness by the customers.
It is pertinent to mention that concept of "Restaurant theatre' mooted by Vikram Sharma under his " Theatre of Convenience" ideologue is already common feature in the state with Rangshala Theatre Group of society having embraced the today's show under Umesh Singh practicing his unchallenged expertise on it.
Vikram, Sapna and Himanshu as usual gave up a mind-boggling performance of a class.
