Govt totally ignoring snow affected areas of Rajouri: BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, Jan 22: Is all the snowfall relief meant for Kashmir? Is state government concerned just for Kashmir during winters? Has Omar only one eye which looks towards Kashmir region? Posing these questions to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, District Rajouri President of BJP, Yogesh Sharma said that along with Kashmir, a major belt of Rajouri especially the areas of Kandi, Bakori, Thana-mandi, Darhal, DKG and others have experienced a heavy snowfall. Lambasting the State Government for its lack of concern for snow hit areas of Rajouri, BJP leader said that the on-going winter and spine chilling cold has paralysed life in these areas, however, official machinery and CM Abdullah are just attentive towards snow bound areas of Kashmir. Sharma said that its good that govt is doing everything in its hand for relief and rehabilitation of people living in valley who are facing life challenges due to heavy snowfall and closure of Jammu-Srinagar NH, but govt's non-serious attitude towards this border district is totally unbearable. He added that bunch of ministers are visiting valley for review of relief work but till date no state minister or higher official has visited Rajouri in order to take stock of snow affected areas. Sharma also said that the failure of State Govt can be examined from the fact that even after hard efforts, Kashmir is facing an acute shortage of essential commodities despite CM's assurances that Govt has made adequate efforts for keeping life in normal in valley during winter. BJP district leader also lashed at Govt for leaving the people of snow hit areas of Chenab valley on their own.
