Fresh snowfall likely in next 3-days: Met office | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 22: With weather office forecast for fresh snowfall in next few days, an intense cold wave gripped Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir Valley on Sunday. The minimum temperature was minus 4.2 degrees in Srinagar, minus 7.6 in Qazigund, minus 11.2 in Pahalgam, minus 14.0 in Gulmarg, minus 20.0 in Leh and minus 17.6 in Kargil. The weather office has forecast fresh snowfall in the next three days across the Valley. "Fresh snowfall is likely to occur between January 23 and 26. The snowfall is likely to be moderate," Director Meteorological Office, Sonam Lotus told. Meanwhile, the Srinagar-Jammu national highway remained open for one-way traffic today with only trucks and SRTC -run buses allowed to move from Srinagar to Jammu. No light vehicles were allowed to move on the highway today. |
