All round development of rural areas agenda of coalition govt: Sham | | | Early Times report AKHNOOR, Jan 22: Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture Sham Lal Sharma has said that all round development of rural and far-flung areas is the agenda of coalition government, and it is moving towards this direction rapidly. Maintaining that creation of new and strengthening the existing infrastructure in the rural areas was the thrust area of the Government during the past three years, the Minister said that next three years will witness the consolidation. To ensure this, the peace and people's active involvement is mandatory, he added. Addressing a public meetings at villages Chack Bhagwana and Bhalwal Brahmana, near here, today the Minister said that all out efforts are being made to improve the socio-economic profile of the rural people and number of schemes have been launched by the Government for the rural areas specifically. He asked the people to coordinate with the administration and avail benefits of these schemes. He advised the rural youth to involve themselves in the agricultural activities, which is the basic sector to bring prosperity. He said the area has lot of potential in the agriculture, horticulture and floriculture sectors and youth must explore their career in these. He said Government cannot provide jobs to each one and youth should think to establish their own income generating units, for which government provides attractive incentives. He asked them to come forward and grab the opportunities. He said the officers of horticulture and floriculture departments will visit the area and educate the locals about the government schemes and viability of various fruits and flower varieties which have great market demand. Responding to the demand of people, he announced Rs. 1 lakh from his CDF for construction of a plate form at village Bhalwal Brahmana. He also assured to examine the demand of construction of community hall on priority in the village. At village Chack Bhagwana, he distributed 100 blankets and five numbers of sewing machines amongst the poor and destitute. The material was arranged by the local NGO namely Sarva Sahyog Samiti Jourian, which is involved in the various social activities. The Minister appreciated the gesture of the NGO and asked the concerned to step up their efforts in rehabilitation of destitute and help the needy. He said that Government will extend necessary assistance to the organization in carrying out the philanthropic activities in the area. Sarpanchs, Panchs, sectoal officers of various departments, Chairman Sarva Sahyog Samiti, Ghaar Singh Ghar and large number of people from different corners of Akhnoor tehsil were present on the occasion
