Rs 2 cr earmarked for box type bridge over Gangyal nallah: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 22: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has asked the R&B officers to redouble their efforts in completing the ongoing construction work of 15.3 meter long motorable box type culvert over Gangyal nallah, for which government has earmarked Rs. 2 crore under state plan. Addressing gathering at Gangyal, Bhalla asked the executing agency to immediately remove the garbage from the choked portion of the nallah holes so that the people do not face any inconvenience due to stagnation of flow of nallah water in the locality. Minister said people of Gangyal area have faced lot of hardships during monsoon due to choke of nallah with mud, resulted flood was entered into the houses of inhabitants which caused heavy loss of public and private properties. He said for providing relief from flash floods, Government has earmarked Rs. 2 crore for immediately start the construction work of box type bridge over nallah adding that with the completion of the project, the people could not feel any problem in this year rainy season. To beautify the alongside half kilometre open space of the canal, the Minister said Government has sanctioned Rs. 1.6 crore for development of recreation park in providing illumination, walkway, drinking water, water storage reservoir besides landscaping facilities to the people of the Gangyal adding that work is under progress and would be completed within stipulated time frame. The Minister said peace is the vital key for making Jammu and Kashmir a model State of the country adding that people's cooperation is must for the Government to make the State a prosperous one. He called upon the people not to heed on nefarious designs whoever wants to use innocent for their personal interests and always disrupt peace, brotherhood, communal harmony and amity of the State. He asked them to give their whole hearted cooperation to the Government for maintaining peace and prosperity in the State. Bhalla also visited Bhour Camp and assessed the development related problems of the inhabitants of the locality. Interacting with the locals, the Minister said fulfilling of people's aspirations and developmental needs is top agenda of the Government. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner.
