Army lends helping hand for community development | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 22: A medical camp was organised in village Dabbar Potha today by 33 Rashtriya Rifles alongwith 325 Field Hospital under the aegis of Tithwal Brigade for the benefit of local population in the villages of Dabbar, Potha, Kheri, Asthana Gurah, Gugrote, Daryalla, Thus and Guni of Nowshera tehsil. Doctors from the army including a lady medical officer and dental specialist attended to the needy patients during the camp. The villagers were educated on various important topics including that of family planning, causes and preventive measures against STD/AIDS and also on general health and hygiene. Government doctors are not able to visit the remote villages frequently due to which a large number of people suffering from serious ailments and diseases remain unattended. Therefore this medical camp provided medical aid and treatment to the needy locals. A strength of approximately 650 patients availed medical benefits in the camp. The event was also attended by BMO Vijay Swhney, Village Sarpanches, School Principals and various other civil dignitaries. During the Medical camp, assistance was also provided to the some of the school of the area of responsibility and six computers with accessories were presented to Govt High School Kheri and almirahs with books were presented to Government High School Gugrote and Middle School Beri Pattan & Dharat. |
