Dehradun protestor greets Rahul with a shoe | "Phenko, phenko, ek aur phenko!" | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 23: Omar and Rahul are friends and today Rahul proved his friendship. Omar was greeted with a show on Independence day last year in Bakshi Stadium and Rahul got it today while elctioneering in Dehradun. In his latest tweet, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah praised Rahul Gandhi for his reaction to a shoe that was thrown at him by a protester. Rahul responded by saying: "phenko, phenko, ek aur phenko" (throw one more shoe). Omar Abdullah's reaction to a similar incident at Bakshi Satadium in the summer capital was not any different. He said: "Jootay phenko, pathar mut phenko." (throw shoes but do not throw stones). Omar later pardoned the shoe thrower. What happened to the person who threw a shoe at Rahul could not be immediately ascertained. Social scientis rate shoe throwing as extreme disapproval of the target's policies. According to them , the persons on whom the shoe is thrown must go for introspection and mend their ways. "Taking such acts of protests reflects the arrogance of a person", they opine. It seems the politicians lack the sense of feeling ashamed. Rahul believes that the shoe was thrown at him to deter him from electioneering. "If some people think that throwing a shoe will deter me and force me to run away, them they are mistaken. Rahul Gandhi will not run away," he said. But then running away at times reflects the prudence of a person!
