APSCC alleges NCM Chairperson for favouring KP community | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 24: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina has alleged that National Commission for Minorities (NCM) Chairperson Wajahat Habi bullah is unduly favouring the Pandits community by inducting them in minority class. "This is not expected and accepted by the minorities of the country. If he does so, then the actual minorities have to hold protests on roads across the state to protest against this definition of 'Minority', he stated in a press statement. He said, "NCM is giving an undue favor to this community Pandits as they fall under the majority community Hindus itself." The long pending demand of APSCC to provide 'minority status to Sikhs' is still ignored till date by the NCM. "As per the National Commission for Minorities Act 1992, only 4 minorities are present in India - Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and Sikhs, Singh added. |
