| Tarigami for early redressal of grievances of daily wagers | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 24: MLA, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has urged upon the authorities to redress the long pending legitimate grievances of daily rated workers of Power Development Department who are on protest for months together.
Addressing a well attended rally of daily wagers and casual labours of Power Development Department, who are sitting on dharna at Jammu for several days, and MLA Tarigami urged upon authorities to redress the long pending legitimate grievances of these workers.
"Despite assurances, wages are not being released regularly to these poor workers, forcing them to resort to indefinite strike, he regretted and added, "as of today, when prices are increasing one can imagine, how difficult it is to survive with meager wages and even when these meager wages are not being paid in time."
He has expressed CPI (M)'s full support to the agitating workers and demanded that the govt should immediately start negotiations with their representatives and ensure that wages due to them are paid and process of regularization is initiated without any further delay.
He cautioned the govt if their demands are not met or negotiations don't take place they will be forced to march to Secretariat during coming assembly session. |
