The people of Marwah accuse the government that despite depositing Rs. 2000/ person in the office of Tehsildar Kishtwar as air fare nearly 10 days ago, they are waiting for the turn to reach home since then. According to the people of Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan who assembled inside the premises of Deputy Commissioner Office Kishtwar said that they are facing the problem while sitting at Kishtwar since they don't have any arrangement of food and accommodation at Kishtwar. They said that they have adjusted themselves at residence of some relatives who are living in Kishtwar town and it's adjoining areas. They said that District administration for the last so many days have been telling them to make queues outside helipad Kishtwar for availing the air service but said that no chopper turn up to airlift them since last 5 continuous days. They said that have no money left in their pockets to arrange food and private accommodation for themselves. They said that any further delay on part of the government will add to their miseries. "Our people want to reach home at the earliest, possibly by tomorrow and in case of delay-there is 26 January coming next day and that will further delay the process of air lifting of Marwah bound passengers." said Sadam Hussain a student from Marwah who accompanied one of his relative desired to go home by chopper. Mr.Saddam said that for petty things, the people of Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan has left with no option but to approach the office of the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to get his work done. "People are left with no option other than to reach Kishtwar since most of the Tehsil level officials posted in Marwah Tehsil are camping at Kishtwar." Saddam Hussain said. Another person who preferred not to be named said that people from Kashmir valley are merely charged @Rs.500/Passenger as air fare from Kashmir to Jammu, but we people of Marwah who are mostly poor and laborer class people has been asked to pay Rs. 2000/Passenger. The people demanded that the government without further delay should airlift all the stranded passengers of Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan, beside the air fare charges to be reduced from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 500/Passenger. When contacted Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar said that District administration is in constant touch with the officials Indian Air Force for arrangement of Chopper, so that airlifting of Marwah bound passengers could be done. He said that IAF chopper in last few days have made many attempt to take off, but bad weather plays the spoil spot. He said that today the IAF Chopper also took off from the army airport Udhampur, but developed some technical fault that forced the pilot of the chopper to return back to Udhampur. He said that in case the weather allows, the first sortie of Marwah bound passengers will take off from Kishtwar tomorrow at around 9.AM.
