Political parties celebrate R-Day with patriotic fervour | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 26: Various political parties celebrated Republic Day by organising functions at various places across the region today. Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) organised main function at party headquarters, Shahidi Chowk here today, which was organised under the leadership of District Congress Committee president Jammu (U) Om Chopra (Ex-MLA). He unfurled the national flag in presence various other Congress leaders. Senior vice president of PCC and former DyCM, Pt Mangat Ram Sharma while speaking on the occasion asked the party workers to propagate the policies and programmes of Congress Party among masses. Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) senior leader and Social Activist, Rajesh Bhat today on the occasion of Republic Day unfurled the National Flag at Migrant Township Jagti. A large number of inmates including children assembled at the occasion and threw light on the importance of Republic Day. National songs were also played on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Bhat said that though India was a secular country from the very inception, it was on this day that the nation was declared Sovereign, Republic, Social and Secular. Bharatiya Janta Party activists held Prabhat Pheri with National Flags in their hands in Rajouri which started from Tehsil Chowk where National Flag was unfurled by City BJP President Vijay Sharma. On the occasion, BJP termed the centre government as working against the wishes of people in a democratic country . BJP activists led by State Secretary Advocate Vibodh Gupta, Senior BJP leader Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Yogesh Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Ranjeet Gupta and Aatam Gupta started a rally from Tehsil office with National Flags in their hands on the eve of 63rd Republic Day of India. Congress Seva Dal celebrated Republic day at Subhash Nagar. B S Sambyal hoisted national flag and addressing to gathering Sambyal asked young generation to adopt path shown by father of nation Mahatma Gandhi who taught us peace and non- violence. Jammu Kashmir Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) celebrated Republic day in Jammu by hoisting flags ceremony at different parts of Jammu. In their joint address, senior members of the party urged people of Jammu & Kashmir to celebrate these Nation's historic days in enthusiastic ways. These days inspires us to prefer national interest over other interests and raises the spirit of nationalism among people. Those who were present and address the gathering are DPN Gen Secretary Tejinder Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Pankaj Bakshi, Sanjeev Rakwal, Arun Sanson, Rajeshwar Vaid, Raghu Loriya and Sunil Verma. Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) Chairman Anil Gupta today hoisted National Flag in different wards of Jammu West Assembly Constituency. While congratulating the people on eve of Republic Day, Anil Gupta said that they should work for the collective good of the society instead of their own petty interests. This will strengthen them and the Nation also. Anil Gupta said, JKDF is a group specifically formed to serve the people of J&K and to fight against the injustice, regionalism and other Socio-economic imbalances prevailing in the Jammu Region. Large number of people are present during the Flag hoisting ceremony by Anil Gupta at Ward No. 24(Rehari), Ward No. 37 (Janipur) ward No. 34( Old Janipur), Ward No. 29 (Rajpura) and Ward No. 40 (Talab Tillo). |
